Class Q barn conversion, located in Cheshire

Here is an example of a Class Q barn conversion, located in Cheshire, in later stages of the developed design (post planning approval). The design is considered to be of high-quality whistle retaining many of the original features from the existing form of development which are traditionally deemed to be cheap, low-cost materials. The developed architectural design process begins to elevate the presumed value of the original low-cost structure and envelope to create a beautiful combination of both new and old materials, combined with the clever volumetrics and space planning to create an interesting and explorative living environment. A connection to external living spaces was a key programming principal which connects every space to ether a sheltered or full exposed environment, open to the elements and spectacular elevated views from the site. Let us know your thoughts on the design so far, more information to follow stay tuned… Jervis Design Architects.
